The practice of paying special commission rates to specific agents is often seen in the context of international student recruitment. These agents may have established relationships with students and families in their home countries, as well as knowledge of the local education systems and culture, which can be valuable for recruiting international students.

Whatever the reason, schools need a school management system that allows for flexibility and that gives them the choice to do anything they need and want. Intrinsiq, allows for just that in nine easy steps.

Here’s how it works

Step 1: Go to Admin, Accounts Settings, Charge Types

Step 2: Click Add and set up a different charge type you may need (exam fee, accommodation, visa fee, transfer and so forth). Standard options would come already set within your system. Once you fill in details, Click Save.

Step 3: Click Add Prices. You can add tiered pricing by weeks and also different prices per different date periods.

Step 4: Hit Refresh and the prices are set.

Step 5: Go to Agent Profile and click on the Commission Rates tab at the bottom.

Step 6: Click Add Entry.

Step 7: Choose the Charge Type you need.

Step 8: Type the commission percentage required and the system sets.

Step 9: Repeat as necessary

Why is this beneficial to schools?

Offering higher commission rates can also help schools attract and retain top-performing agents who may have other options for where to send their students, however, this might raise some ethical concerns in certain cases. As such, it's important for schools to carefully vet and monitor their recruitment agents to ensure that they are acting in the best interest of their students. Once they have their priorities in order, having such a feature in their CMS is beneficial for the following reasons:

1. The system allows for a more bespoke approach to agent commission.
2. Staff do not need to remember which agent gets commission for which course or fee, as the system does it for them
3. Charge types can have an infinite amount of variants depending on seasonal rates, and number of weeks booked. Since these can be set in advance, staff members do not need to remember all offers currently running at the school as the system does it for them.
